I worked with a team of interns to research and produce a proof-of-concept deployment of GitLab runners into Azure Kubernetes Service. These runners will execute GitLab CI/CD jobs and are intended to replace the current on-premise runners in this migration to the cloud. From this POC, our sponsor projected a 70% annual savings cost from this migration.
We worked with our corporate sponsors to assess deliverables, gain access to tools, and report progress.
Some specific tasks that we were assigned included configuring the agent and runner, testing the autoscaling capability, and connecting both a Linux and Windows node pool.
My team demonstrated phenominal teamwork and made outstanding progress, meeting milestones ahead of schedule. We were a finalist for the Most Competent and Collaborative Team award at the University of Illinois Research Park.
